HAPPEE NEW YEAR~

Helloz! Wind here... LONG TIME NO SEE.. LONG LONG TIME NO SHEEE~

It's been some weeks since I updated the blog. First of all HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

Alright, past feel weeks we've been working on the school's Christmas shows and also preparing for the big "Christmasing" event. There are a total of 12 shows (if i'm not wrong, but it's around there). So over 10 shows. Every show we did different roles, so that we can learn more variety of skills. I would prefer to be stuck on doing camera because I'm already used to it. So in the end I did sound mixing, camera operator, visual mixer and also engineer. Of course our bosses Harry and Phil will give us some training on how to operate those complicating huge machines..

And so after all the shows we have to prepare the equipment. Some of them are really hard to assemble. For example. The "Tricaster", I have to pull out all the BNC cables that is connecting to it. The lights that we have to bring down from the stage because the event will be held at another place. And we also have to coil a very very very very long 26 pin cables (It can be consider as a pipe).

So after packing all the equipment and bring it down to Scottish Rite (the location for the event), we unload it from the truck and prepare to set up. It took us two days to set up the stations and test it. From all this set up, I have become more familiar with cables, adapters, visual inputs and outputs. Of course the set up wasn't that smooth. We have some problems during the set up and to be honest I'm glad that it happened. Because from all this problems and difficulties, it allows me to learn more and understand.

So during Christmasing, I was operating the wireless camera. It was really a fun experience as I was able to run to the backstage and shoot behind the scenes of the show. So I made a few friends during this event. :D
And the show went on smoothly(of course) and after the show we have to tear down our "stuff", load it up and sent back to the studio. And because of that we went to bed at 4am that night.. or you can call  it morning. And the next day we have to pack the stuff and put it back to where it belongs.

So after this everyone had a few days to rest and also to celebrate Christmas! This year's Christmas we went to Lake Tahoe, 4 hours drive from San Francisco. So we spent 4 days there to relax and play with snow.

And after we came back, we are to shoot a Countdown event on 31st December night.

Rehearsals for Christmasing~ (there's something quite wrong with this image though) :)

So this is the complicated sound mixer that I need to operate?
