2013 SP DMIT San Francisco Internship

Week 2

Hey guys =D I know i missed out on week 2!Sorry! But it's been pretty hectic since we got here,with plenty of shoots to be done!

I'll talk about the stuff we've done during week 2 for now and post for week 3 a little later.

So we completed the Harvestfest Short film,accompanying Message and Instruction Video in time for HarvestFest on thursday last week!=)
Yay for us! Job well done! Then during the Harvestfest itself we were stationed in the sanctuary to play the film and instruction video for the people coming in,which unfortunately meant i didn't have time to go around and take pictures =( but oh well at least everyone else had fun.

So the day before that on Wednesday,we had our weekly Mass Media Department Meeting where we finalized the story for the Thanksgiving short film. I was also asked to direct it with the help of phil and harry, and i was totally freaking inside myself, wondering why i have to direct it because i'm not very good at directing although it's what i want to do in the future. And after that Wind and I spent the next 2 days(excluding time for Harvestfest) to do up the storyboard and shot list for the film while shawn and debbie had to touch up the script. Then on saturday,we shot the thanksgiving shortfilm titled Thankfullness. And we shot it all in one day! 0.0 yes i'm not kidding you.We shot an 11 page script in one day from 9am to 11pm. It was a slow start at first as i was pretty nervous about doing the directing and because we had to shoot the outdoor scenes first in fog,but after awhile we managed to get things going although to me i was still pretty slow in getting things done =/ just part of the learning experience i guess.But all in all i think we did quite alright,although things could have been done better and faster.It always could be.We basically knocked out after returning to our apartment from the shoot. But the next day we had to get up for Shooting sunday service and i was manning the soundboard this week.This time there wasn't anyone to teach me on doing sound but thankfully i had Shawn beside me doing the Iris control to help me as he did sound the week before and managed to guide me through the process from what he learned.After we had lunch after service, we headed back into the studio to do a green screen shoot for the upcoming Christmas Scene where the video is supposed to look like a weather channel in the studio and showing off the weather map.It took the rest of the day to shoot it but it was an interesting experience to shoot a full video in green screen =O

Overall it was a busy busy week without much rest but it was fun and eventful and a worthwhile experience =D
