As you can see, I'm the "first" one to post, I'm so efficient(not) yeah? Haha
I haven't done any blogging since 143275256 years, so let's see if I can get this right.
I'll try to blog weekly with more peektures(to make it interesting) instead of words kay
Week One.
The view from the rooftop the first morning we were here.
We were so excited to be here! Haha.
Harry gave us a tour around the school, mainly around the studio where we would be doing most of our work in.
The church has a corresponding event called "Harvestfest" for Halloween, and we were to produce a shortfilm for the event. The 2nd day we did some set design for the house and also set up equipments for the night's shoot.
The guys setting up the 4K HDMI. This is the first time I've actually seen and handled a 4K.
Kenneth & Steve on the scaffold. We were shooting a door shot for one of the scene where the kids go treat or tricking.
Harvestfest shoot took place over 2 nights
I'm sure the guys have mentioned this multiple times in their posts(see below), so no harm echo-ing it again yeah? Haha.
We were shooting in 9? or so degrees the 2 nights along with strong winds and though the weather made the filming difficult, what I really admired was how the crew was very focused and kept the production going.
Glad I had a taste of shooting in these circumstances because you learn that your physical body can actually handle more.(: If I make sense. Haha.
For the first service we took part in, I was the camera engineer. Basically, I could control the iris's etc of a few cameras, from upstairs. We are rotating our roles in the production room, so that we get a hand of all the roles up here before we head down to use the cameras in weeks to come.
The following Monday or week actually, we started post production on the film.
Wind did the editing, Kenneth & myself did graphics on illustrator for an instruction video that will be shown during Harvestfest after the short film. Shawn is doing the animation for the graphics.
The same week we also had a Mass Media meeting with the rest of the volunteers and crew. We came together to discuss & further develop the script for our next project and shortfilm for Thanksgiving. So you see, you also do pre production here!(:
Of course, we also had some time to be a tourist and Harry brought us to various places of attractions such as Fisherman's Warf, Twin Peaks etc.
Pier 39 where the sealions reside. Haha
View from Twin Peaks.
Random shots. Where I hashtagged this #sweatpantsswag on Instagram. Haha!
Just thought its funny to include this in. We were at a Vietnamese eatery/restaurant for lunch, and I blindly ordered this beef noodle without looking at the size writtten in small fonts on the menu. It came in XL size! Haha, comparison with a S bowl.
Okay abrupt ending, but thats about it for Week1. Look forward to more of my posts! Byeeeee(:
